A bright painting depicting a boxer went under the hammer for $13,360. “Doctor Iron Fist” was presented in the bidding by “Mystetska Zbirka” Gallery.  In such a way Mykhailo came to be the most expensive young (less than 30 years old) artist of Ukraine. This year his work “Stools” was sold for $8,000 on the April auction Phillips.

Also the yesterday auction saw the sale of one more work of a famous young Ukrainian sculpture Nazar Bilyk for $11,900.

This year our artists have been quite successful in representing Ukraine on the world auctions. Thus, in November more works of the top Ukrainian artists went under hammer in the first in the history bidding of Easter European Modern Art held by the Sotheby’s auction house. Winter landscape by Anatoliy Kryvolap was sold for $60,750; the work of Oleg Tistol “Chineese III” from the series “Aliens” – for $36,450; the painting “Without name” by Victor Sydorenko from the “Levitation” cycle – for $26,300; “Work № 1” by Olexander Zhyvotkov from the series “Roads” – for $22,270; “Lost paradise” by Pavlo Makov – for $13,160; “Arlekin and Pierro in the Crimea” by Arsen Savadov – for $13,160.
