Yuriy Bolsa b. 1997
Overview
Yuriy Bolsa was born in 1997, in Chervonohrad city, Lviv region Ukraine. He graduated from the College no. 11 in Chervonohrad, majoring in computer typing and typesetting in 2015.
Artistic practice began with self-inflicted imprisonment in the apartment, which lasted for 6 years, so the author works with personal stories, dominated by loneliness, self-destruction and research of the surrounding society through the prism of alienation.
After moving to Kyiv, he began to work more with socio-political problems that resonate with his injuries. The main direction is the theme of destruction and changes that lead to the emergence of something new. Also he started a project about his hometown, Chervonohrad. The main concept is glorifying this place, and at the same time, it serves as a series of self-portraits.

Laureate of the Culture Ambassadors Scholarship 2022 from the Museum of Contemporary Art of Odesa.
