Animals – Kateryna Lysovenko’s largest exhibition to-date is currently on view at Kunstverein Hannover.
The exhibition comprises nearly 50 works, mainly paintings created between 2020
and 2025, among them the series such as Mermaids and It's hard to say what
happens with a man, when the land becomes a mother. In these works, Lysovenko
deals with the omnipresent violence of war, its underlying power structures and the
resulting trauma. Her figurative images featuring people, animals and hybrid beings
oscillate between mythology, memory and the desire for harmony and peace.
Exhibition dates: 31 January 2025 - 30 March 2025
Location: Kunstverein Hannover, Hannover, Germany.
