IN PLACE is a decentralized exhibition hosted by ten Miami based organizations presenting, parallel to their regular programs, one to three works from the portrait series We Become Better by Ukrainian artist Oleksyi Sai. The paintings represent an interpretation of the recovery of human texture as a feature claimed when we distance ourselves from superficial preoccupations. Sai portrays men and women from the corporate world as characters that experience transformation when practices of consumerism are removed from their daily life. The exhibition aims to create a shared narrative related to the flow of culture, common spaces of analysis, and mutual observations.
This exhibition comes together through the support of Miami based art and art- related organizations, and the Voloshyn Gallery (Kyiv). Curated by Nuria Richards.
