Volodymyr Kohut is the young expressive artist from Lviv. His attitude to the art he outlines as follows: “The sense of my works is in sincerity and primitivity of the images. Trying to put aside everything that we percept through the eyes, I strive to internalize the information like a child who doesn’t have any experience. I’m inspired by the movement, the possibility of learning the images from the stories of different people. As a result I am all the time upon the look; my conscience has always been in the state of experiencing.  All the characters of my works are the real people, who this way or the other influenced me or send me an emotional feedback. I’m trying to freeze into place such a situation regardless of materials I have at hand: ball point pen, marker – any instruments will do. That’s why quite often you can see the mixture of techniques in my works.”

Volodymyr Kohut was born in 1995 in Lviv, Ukraine. Since childhood he was sure that his calling is science, such as geometry and design. However, in 2009 having prepared for two months, he entered I. Trush Lviv State College of Decorative and Fine Arts, where he studied till 2013. In 2013 he became a student of the Lviv National Art Academy at the department of Sacred Art, and between 2015 and 2017 he studied at the department of Monumental Paintings. Volodymyr Kohut lives and works in Lviv.
