Sergiy Zapadnya is an artist, who works in different media from classical painting to graphics and computer graphics, photography. Zapadnya experiments a lot, looking for the new artistic devices in the genre of graphics and at the same time sticks to the postmodernistic values. Typical feature of the artist’s works is his search of the different visual forms for each new project. The themes of the contemporaneity and comprehending the new age and technologies are the author’s priority.

Sergiy Zapadnya was born in Brovary, Kyiv region, Ukraine. From 2008 to 2014 he studied at the National Academy of Fine Art and Architecture (NAFAA) at the studio of Free Graphics of A.V. Chebykin. During the study at NAFAA he was repeatedly awarded with first prizes at the academic drawing competitions. In 2015 he took the first prize in the category “Graphics” at Feldman Art Park Competition in Kharkiv. In 2016 he became the member of the residence “Dukley Art Community”, Montenegro. From 2011 by 2015 was the member of the Haiat Art Squat. The facilitator of the Sadik Squat (2014). Since 2015 the artist has been the member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. The works of Zapadnya can be found in private collections of Poland, Lithuania, Germany. The artist lives and works in Kyiv.
