Biography

Bogdan Tomashevskiy started as an architect   –  but quite soon he came to the visual and conceptual art, land art. He works in a difficult technique combining such materials as clay, ceramics and polymeric glass, creating three-dimensional installations-reliefs. As Tomashevskiy notes the movement Arte Povera is very close to him. He likes its minimalism and industrial materials.

Bogdan Tomashevskiy was born in 1986 in Uzhhorod, Zakarpatska oblast, Ukraine, in family of painters. Since 2004 till 2010 he studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, where he obtained a Master's degree in the specialty "Architect-Artist." In 2011 - 2017 Tomashevskiy participated at more than 30 group and personal projects, among which the HOHOLFEST, solo exhibition at Shcherbenko Art Centre, project "Albuquerque" andproject"Phantom Maker". In 2015 he won the first place in the sculpture competition "Feldman Art Park" and in 2016 became a resident of Dukley art Community of Marat Gelman in Montenegro. Currently lives and works in Kyiv.
